Sohit's Journey: From Struggles to Aspiring Software Engineer
My Journey: From Struggles to Aspiring Software Engineer
I was born on April 25, 2001, into a humble family. My father, Ramvilash Sharma, is a carpenter, and my mother, Mamta Devi, has always been a pillar of support for me. I have a brother, Mohit Kumar, and two sisters, Priyanka and Priti Kumari. In total, there are six members in my family, and we've faced many challenges together.
From a young age, I witnessed the hard work and sacrifices my father made to provide for us. His work as a carpenter in Patna has kept him busy, and despite his best efforts, we always struggled financially. My father often told me that I should work and earn money, but deep down, I always knew that my true passion was to become a software engineer.
I have always been interested in technology, and I dreamed of one day studying computer science. However, life wasn’t easy for me. Between 2018 and 2022, I lost three years of my life. During that time, I went to Bangalore to work as a carpenter, trying to help my family, but I feel that I wasted valuable time. In those years, I wasn’t able to pursue my education, and my aspirations seemed far from reach.
In 2024, I made a significant decision: I enrolled in CIMAGE College to study software engineering. This is the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I am now a computer science student, determined to follow my dreams and make up for lost time. My journey hasn't been easy, but I am determined to succeed.
I have been motivated by my uncle, Arun Sharma, who is just like my father. He has always been a guiding light, encouraging me to keep pushing forward. However, despite the support from my family, I still faced challenges. My parents were sometimes disappointed that I spent more time studying instead of working. My father, especially, has always believed that earning money through hard work is the most important thing. This made me feel demotivated at times, but I never gave up on my dreams.
In 2024, I had a falling out with my uncle Arun, which added to the emotional burden I was carrying. My family has been through a lot, including my grandmother, who is now about 90 years old, and my family's struggles with daily life. Still, I remain hopeful and focused on my education.
As I write this article on December 25, 2024, I reflect on the ups and downs of my life. The year 2024 has been both tough and transformative. This is the year I decided to start afresh, and with every passing day, I grow closer to my goal of becoming a software engineer. My journey is just beginning, but I am determined to keep going no matter the obstacles.
